4 kwietnia Dell wypuszcza do sprzedaży nową wersję Windows Storage Server 2003 - podobnie jak nowy Windows Server 2003 - z oznaczeniem R2. Domyślnie Dell będzie preinstalowywał ten system operacyjny na serwerach Poweredge 830 a po 24 maja także na nowej linii serwerów 9-tej generacji: Poweredge 2900 i Poweredge 2950.
Na marginesie, dla 9-tej generacji serwerów domyślnie będzie oferowany nowy RAID kontroler PERC5 z obługą SAS - Serial Attched SCSI. Pozostałe dostępne w sprzedaży serwery będą miały opcję zakupu PERC5 zamiast PERC4.

Windows Storage Server 2003 R2 będzie dostępny w następujących edycjach:

Express Edition x64
Workgroup Edition x64
Standard Edition x64
Enterprise Edition x64

Mozesz napisac jakie on ma roznice w stosunku do zwyklych wersji? Tak z doswiadczenia, bo tabelki pewnie gdzies znajde w sieci.

1) brak mozliwosci instalacji jako kontrolera AD
2) nowe MMC dla SAN
3) wiecej sterownikow dla HBA czy innych urzadzen SCSI
